Description
The Department of National Defence is procuring one Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) 3D printer, with options for two additional printers. The system must support high-performance manufacturing, rapid prototyping, tooling, and end-use parts made from thermoplastic polymer powders, including Polyamide 11, Polyamide 12, polypropylene, and TPU or compatible third-party powders. Mandatory capabilities include a minimum 150 x 150 x 300 mm build volume, a heated build chamber reaching at least 50°C with controlled cool-down, 120V/60Hz North American power, adjustable temperature, laser speed and hatch spacing, an enclosed inert-gas-capable environment, and software operating without an internet connection. The software and applicable license must be included for at least three years. The requirement also includes specified consumables, delivery, installation at the final site, installation requirements, virtual technical support in English, and training for up to five people either in person or remotely. The printer and consumables must be delivered no later than March 31, 2027. The procurement uses mandatory technical criteria and awards to the compliant offer with the lowest evaluated price. Offers may be submitted in English or French, and the requirement is conditionally limited to Canadian goods.
