Description
The U.S. Geological Survey intends to make a noncompetitive award to Telonics, Inc. for 90 RECON-4560-5 GPS/Globalstar satellite-linked tracking collars: 45 configured for mule deer with CAST-4 protective casting and CR-5A programmable timed-release mechanisms, and 45 configured for pronghorn with CAST-4 protective casting and CR-7A programmable timed-release mechanisms. The collars are required for ongoing big-game movement and wildlife-crossing research along the I-80 corridor in southern Wyoming. The agency cites data continuity, compatibility with existing Telonics data-processing systems, Globalstar satellite communications, integrated VHF mortality beacons, durable sealed housings, Wyoming field performance, and compatibility with the required timed-release mechanisms as the basis for the intended sole-source award. Vendors with a comparable product may submit an affirmative capability response by the stated deadline.
