Description
The United Nations Development Programme in the Philippines is seeking innovative, scalable, commercialized business solutions for Maasin City, Southern Leyte, under the EU-Philippines Green Economy Partnership. Proposed solutions must address one of Maasin City's identified challenges: scaling technologies to divert, reduce, and process biowaste, or designing a commercially viable product from coconut husks and shells that benefits the community and attracts investment. Solutions must have been commercialized and in use for at least one year, and applicants must demonstrate legal registration, operational capacity, and an active bank account. Awards range from USD 35,000 to USD 40,000, with one award per organization for each participating local government unit. The implementation period is expected to begin on November 3, 2026, and last 10 to 15 months. Proposals must include the completed Form 1 application and applicant declaration, completed Form 2 containing outputs, work plan, financial proposal, risk register, and team details, a pitch deck of no more than 15 slides and 25 MB, proof of registration, proof of an active bank account, proof that the proposed solution has been commercialized and used for at least one year, and any required supporting documentation. Submissions will be evaluated for solution readiness, innovation and fit, socioeconomic and environmental impact, long-term sustainability, and gender equality, disability, and social inclusion.
