Description
The City of New Bern Public Works Department is soliciting a contractor for the FY 2027 GO Bond Paving project. The work covers milling approximately 45,533 square yards of existing asphalt to a two-inch depth; grading exposed roadbeds; furnishing and placing approximately 5,060 tons of Type S9.5B asphalt concrete surface course; aggregate base course; manhole rim leveling; traffic control; erosion control and cleanup; and thermoplastic pavement markings. Work will occur on portions of Pollock, North Craven, Princess, Eden, Crescent, Guion, Bern, and River streets and River Drive. Bidders must hold a current North Carolina general contractor license, provide the license number on the Bid Form, submit a copy of the license, and provide bid security of at least five percent of the proposal. The contract provides for substantial completion within 90 calendar days after the Contract Times commence under the Notice to Proceed. Performance and payment bonds, each at least equal to the Contract Price, and specified insurance are required after award.
