Description
The Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources’ Leading by Example Clean Energy Grant Program will fund eligible state entities, quasi-public authorities, and public institutions of higher education to deploy electric-vehicle supply equipment for Commonwealth-owned or leased fleet vehicles at state-owned facilities and approved domicile locations. Eligible costs include networked or non-networked Level 1 and Level 2 charging equipment, portable EVSE, limited direct-current fast charging, site assessments, electrical and infrastructure upgrades, installation, commissioning, pre-wiring, networking and data packages, maintenance packages, extended warranties, and eligible domicile-charging costs. The program has up to $627,390 available. Individual eligible entities may receive up to $300,000, while domicile projects generally have a $5,000-per-location charging-element cap, subject to stated exceptions. Applicants must complete the LBE Fleet EVSE Grant Application Form, solicit at least three project proposals before applying, submit the selected vendor’s itemized cost proposal, demonstrate or develop a fleet-electrification plan, commit to ordering at least one battery-electric vehicle within 18 months of a signed agreement, and agree to deploy and commission the EVSE within six months of that agreement. Awardees must operate and maintain fleet EVSE for at least five years after final installation and commissioning; networked-station awardees must support required data collection and sharing.
