Description
UNDP seeks an individual consultant to design and deliver a wildlife conservation training and coaching program for selected Indigenous, tribal, and other local communities. The assignment includes recruiting up to 15 participants, assessing their training needs, preparing a customized program, conducting at least five practical training sessions, and coaching participants on applying conservation practices while supporting local livelihoods and traditional ways of life. Topics include community-based conservation, sustainable natural-resource use, biodiversity protection, and preventing and managing human-wildlife conflicts. The consultant must coordinate with national authorities, project partners, and Indigenous and Tribal Peoples, and target equal participation by women and men. Required outputs include a work plan; reports and presentations on the needs assessment, participant recruitment, and customized training program; documentation of training delivery and the coaching trajectory; and pre- and post-training evaluations with documented outcomes and lessons learned. The assignment is home-based with travel to the project area, requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience, and requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field. The consultant must be proficient in Dutch and English and have verbal proficiency in Sranan Tongo. The stated level of effort is 17 working days within a two-month period.
