Description
Transylvania County Schools is soliciting bids for Category 1 data transmission and Internet access services to distribute an MCNC/NCREN-provided Internet circuit across 11 eligible district sites. The requested capacity ranges from 1 Gbps to 25 Gbps, with site-level options ranging from 1 to 20 Gbps. The district will consider leased lit fiber delivered over a third-party network, as well as other transport modes that meet the stated requirements. The contract is scheduled to begin July 1, 2027. Bidders must provide pricing for either a five-year initial term with five voluntary one-year extensions or a 10-year term with no extensions. Requirements include SPI/BEAR billing capability, a current SPIN and annual SPAC, bandwidth changes and site changes without penalty, detailed taxes and fees, service availability from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST, documented network uptime, and evidence of local community presence. Prior experience and support and maintenance services are among the evaluation factors.
