Description
The City of Columbus is soliciting construction bids for the Fire Alarm Office Renovation, project number 450705-100003. The work includes renovation across three floors, including painting and wall repairs, resilient flooring and cove base, ceiling tile and grid work, door refinishing, spiral stair and handrail painting, LED lighting and dimmer replacement, room signage, kitchenette cabinets and plumbing, ADA-height bathroom fixtures and finishes, mirrors, dispensers, and electrical heaters. The project also includes related fire alarm and electrical improvements shown in the construction plans and specifications. Bidders must submit an electronic bid through Bid Express and attend the mandatory pre-bid conference to remain eligible to bid. The project is subject to prevailing-wage requirements, a 60-calendar-day substantial-completion period from the Notice to Proceed, a 10% bid bond, and conditional performance and payment bonding for contracts exceeding $100,000. The solicitation requires a Proposal Signature Affidavit, applicable joint-venture documents, subcontractor information, experience and resource information, deadlines and cost-control information for three similar completed projects, availability information, and the Bid Affidavit. The solicitation also specifies insurance requirements, construction prequalification and compliance provisions, and a mandatory background-check requirement after award. Addendum 1 was issued, and the opportunity was revised on October 15, 2026.
