Matanuska Electric Association, Inc. is soliciting contractors interested in pre-qualification for electrical construction services on their distribution, transmission, and substation facilities throughout 2026 and 2027. To be eligible for bidding on projects, contractors must successfully submit required documentation and execute the Electrical Construction Contract 2026-2027. The submission period for pre-qualification documents is from November 25, 2025, to December 31, 2027. Mandatory submittal documents include insurance certificates, resumes of proposed superintendents and foremen with relevant experience and certifications, bond documents from a US Department of the Treasury-approved surety company, a list of recent electrical utility construction projects completed in Alaska within the last three years, current financial statements, an inventory of available construction equipment, a hazardous material response plan, copies of business and contractor licenses, a list of key personnel for emergency response, OSHA 300 summaries and incident rates for the previous two years, and completed safety review forms. Matanuska Electric Association, Inc. requires at least seven calendar days to review submittals, with additional time needed for incomplete submissions. The ability to be awarded projects after January 1, 2026, is contingent upon MEA's acceptance of the contractor's qualifications and the execution of the contract.
