Description
The Government of Prince Edward Island is soliciting a general contractor for upgrades to the Sullivan Building's main electrical system. The work includes demolition and removal of existing electrical equipment; supply and installation of new electrical panels, switches, breakers, and transformers; coordination of required shutdowns with the owner's representative and electrical consultant; and scheduling power interruptions outside regular business hours. The contractor must complete the work by March 31, 2027, provide a preliminary construction schedule with the bid, and comply with applicable electrical, building, occupational health and safety, fire-safety, and environmental requirements. The solicitation requires bid security consisting of either a bid bond of at least 10 percent of the tender amount plus a letter of surety for a 50 percent performance bond, or a security deposit of at least 10 percent. Commercial general liability and automobile liability insurance of at least $2,000,000 are required; builder's risk insurance is required if the work involves new construction or reconstruction. The bid must be submitted on the prescribed tender form with the required security and sealed-envelope markings.
