Description
New York State is seeking applications for a competitive capital grant of up to $25 million to establish a world-class Semiconductor Design Center in Downstate New York. The proposed center is intended to support chip-design companies, incubate startups, train semiconductor designers, connect emerging companies with the broader semiconductor industry, and strengthen the regional semiconductor ecosystem. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, academic or research institutions, and multi-entity consortia led by an eligible nonprofit fiscal agent. The facility must be located in Orange, Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, or Putnam County, New York City, or Long Island. The project may involve new construction or expansion or modification of an existing structure. Phase 1 Concept Papers and full proposals are required at separate stages.
