Description
The California Department of Parks and Recreation seeks a contractor to complete campground and day-use area improvements under a single prime contract. Work shown in the plans includes new and modified asphalt and concrete paving, accessible parking and striping, grading, utility work for water and sewer connections, camp-host hookups, site furnishings, fencing, picnic ramadas, restroom improvements, and associated electrical work. The contractor must furnish the labor, materials, tools, and equipment needed to complete the work in accordance with the plans and specifications. Bids require at least 6% participation by certified Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises. The solicitation also provides a 5% small-business preference and requires a mandatory job showing. The bid package includes a bidder checklist and forms, plans, and a project manual. The engineer’s estimate is $5.4 million to $6.4 million. The bid form states that work must be completed within 365 calendar days from written notice to commence; the notice to contractors separately states a 730-calendar-day contract term from notice to proceed.
