Description
The State of Utah is soliciting an approved archaeology vendor to conduct cultural resources work for the Cherry Fire Rehabilitation project on Trust Lands Administration and private lands in Juab County. The scope covers approximately 4,556 acres, including a cultural resources literature review and site revisits across the full area of potential effect and pedestrian archaeological inventory of approximately 4,095 acres using mixed 15-meter and 30-meter transects. Approximately 2,098 acres require intensive 15-meter transects and approximately 1,997 acres require 30-meter transects. The contractor must document newly identified and previously recorded cultural resources, complete Utah Archaeological Site Forms, evaluate resources for National Register of Historic Places eligibility, provide GPS-based spatial data, photographs, GIS and tabular data, and perform rolling consultation reporting after each field session. Deliverables include a single draft and final cultural resources report and associated site forms, GIS data, tabular data, and isolated-find data. Fieldwork must begin within two weeks of award, with expected fieldwork completion by February 1, 2027, draft deliverables due April 1, 2027, and final deliverables due June 1, 2027. The project requires a qualified principal investigator holding a Public Lands Policy Coordinating Office Principal Investigator Permit to Conduct Archaeological Surveys, and bidders must be on the approved archaeology vendor list.
