Description
This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) from the Department of Health and Human Services aims to support eligible domestic institutions in developing and implementing integrated dual-degree training programs. The goal is to cultivate physician-scientists equipped to lead advancements in biomedical research, focusing on accelerating the translation of research findings into improved understanding, detection, treatment, and prevention of human diseases. The program emphasizes optimizing training efficacy and efficiency, and fostering the long-term persistence of alumni in research careers. Training elements will include didactic instruction, research, mentoring, and career development. Eligibility is open to various domestic institutions, including Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions, Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AANAPISISs), Eligible Agencies of the Federal Government, Faith-based or Community-based Organizations, Hispanic-serving Institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Indian/Native American Tribal Governments (Other than Federally Recognized), Regional Organizations, Tribally Controlled Colleges and Universities (TCCUs), U.S. Territory or Possession, and private institutions of higher education. Non-domestic entities and non-domestic components of U.S. organizations are not eligible.
