Description
This presolicitation is for construction services to repair the exterior precast concrete facade of Building 111 at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center. The work includes isolated repairs to cracks and spalls in precast concrete panels, supplemental lateral anchorage, removal and replacement of joint sealants, installation of flashing end dams and cavity closures, fluid-applied air-barrier work, water repellents, and related masonry repairs. The contractor must remove and reconstruct brick masonry along the full height of designated precast panels, salvage and reinstall suitable existing brick, provide matching new brick and stainless-steel ties, and perform traditional asbestos abatement for asbestos-containing exterior caulk and flashing materials. The work may require scaffolding, swing stages, lift buckets, containment, negative-air systems, infection-control measures, and work sequencing while the hospital remains fully operational. The stated project magnitude is $5,000,000 to $10,000,000, with a planned performance period of 330 calendar days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
