Description
The United Nations Development Programme in Zambia seeks a multidisciplinary consulting firm to identify, analyze, and map priority electric-vehicle charging corridors across Zambia’s national road network, trade corridors, urban centers, and border crossings. The assignment includes assessment of transport and energy infrastructure, electricity-grid accessibility and hosting capacity, EV market readiness, charging-station siting, preliminary social and environmental screening, charger interoperability standards, and development of a GIS database and digital maps. The consultant must produce an evidence-based, investment-ready roadmap covering infrastructure requirements, cost estimates, phased deployment scenarios, business models, financing structures, and public-private partnership options. Required deliverables include an inception report, baseline assessment, draft corridor analysis and GIS database, stakeholder consultation report, draft final strategy framework, validation workshop presentation, and final report. The assignment is home-based with field travel across priority Zambian corridors and requires a multidisciplinary team including transport, power systems, GIS, financial/economic, safeguards, and gender and social inclusion expertise.
