Description
This general contracting project will provide a new single-mode fiber-optic backbone across the existing Pickaway Correctional Institution campus. The work includes directional boring; underground innerduct, conduit, and handholes; fiber-optic cabling between the campus MDF and existing IDF locations; fiber termination enclosures, patch panels, racks, cabinets, cable management, grounding, labeling, testing, documentation, and firestopping. The drawings also require installation of owner-furnished switches, UPS units, wireless access points, and CCTV cameras, along with associated CAT6 cabling and electrical connections. The contractor is responsible for coordinating subcontractors, maintaining operations at the occupied correctional facility, complying with facility security and access procedures, prevailing-wage and domestic-steel requirements, and meeting a 5 percent EDGE participation goal. The estimated contract amount is $1,812,289, and substantial completion is required within 365 consecutive days after the Notice to Proceed. A bid guaranty is required with the electronic bid, and the original guaranty must be delivered after bid opening when applicable.
