The National Science Foundation's Data Science Corps program supports proposals that engage data science students in real-world implementation projects and build a workforce-ready cohort of data scientists and technologists. Projects may address community needs in rural or urban communities, academia, industry, or government, and may include data science education and training related to knowledge representation and the creation and use of knowledge graphs. The program supports opportunities for undergraduates, including students at community colleges, Minority Serving Institutions, and other emerging research institutions, as well as grade 6–12 teachers and students. Proposals may also broaden participation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education. Eligible applicants are qualifying U.S. nonprofit, non-academic organizations and accredited two- or four-year U.S. institutions of higher education. The program anticipates 15 awards, with total program funding of $10,000,000 and individual awards ranging from $800,000 to $1,200,000. The opportunity is archived and proposals are not accepted.
