Description
The British Columbia Ministry of Forests is seeking proposals for manual wildfire risk-reduction fuel treatment work in Treatment Unit 3 of the Fox Farm Road project area and pile burning only in adjacent Treatment Unit 1. The scope covers approximately 16.7 hectares in TU 3 and 7.2 hectares in TU 1, including thinning, pruning, piling, and prescribed pile burning in mature Douglas-fir and ponderosa pine stands. The work is intended to reduce surface, ladder, and aerial fuel hazards; improve wildfire suppression opportunities; address root-rot-related standing dead and declining trees; and support future maintenance treatments. Contractors must protect riparian areas, wildlife trees, cultural values, recreation and range interests, utilities, and other environmental and safety values identified in the approved fuel management prescription. The maximum contract budget is CAD 112,760, exclusive of applicable taxes, and proposals exceeding that amount will be rejected. The estimated contract period is five months.
