Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs anticipates soliciting proposals for a single-firm, firm-fixed-price design-bid-build construction contract at the Montgomery VA Medical Center. The contractor will furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and other work necessary to complete the EHRM infrastructure upgrades in accordance with the drawings and specifications. The scope includes a standalone data center; facility-wide fiber upgrades to telecommunications rooms; redundant fiber runs and fiber mains; additional telecommunications and electrical outlets; facility power-distribution and HVAC-distribution upgrades; physical-security assessment and upgrades; hazardous-material abatement and removal; and related disciplines required to complete the project. The anticipated construction magnitude is $20 million to $50 million, with an approximate 465-calendar-day period of performance from issuance of the notice to proceed. The future solicitation is expected to be conducted as an RFP under FAR Part 15 and set aside in its entirety for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses.
