Description
The Town of Mahone Bay is seeking unit-price bids for the as-needed transportation of approximately 300–400 tonnes of bulk road salt from its supplier in Pugwash, Nova Scotia, to the Town's salt storage building behind 184 Clairmont Street. The anticipated service period is early November 2026 through late March 2027. The contractor must use a live-bottom tractor-trailer, provide deliveries during normal working hours, guarantee delivery within the agreed timeframe, cover loads during wet weather, and provide weigh bills with each delivery. The successful proponent will invoice monthly and must maintain at least $2,000,000 in commercial liability insurance, provide a certificate of insurance, ensure drivers have valid Nova Scotia licenses and endorsements, maintain compliant equipment, and provide proof of workers' compensation coverage before work begins. The quotation must include a per-ton price, HST, total price per ton, delivery timeframe, equipment confirmation, applicable safety certification information, and two references for similar work completed within the past two years.
