Description
The City of Mobile is soliciting sealed bids for construction improvements at the Halls Mill Road and Demetropolis Road intersection, including traffic signals, curbing, and roadway widening. Bidders must be licensed Alabama contractors with either a Municipal & Utility or Highways & Streets major classification and must be listed on the Alabama Department of Transportation bidder's list at the time of the mandatory pre-bid conference. The bid must be submitted on the provided proposal form with all attached papers returned, including any issued addenda. A bid check or bid bond equal to 5% of the bid amount is required, capped at $10,000. The successful contractor must provide a performance bond for the full contract amount and a labor and material bond for 100% of the contract amount. Prevailing wage rates apply, and insurance documentation naming the City of Mobile as an additional insured is required at contract signing.
