Description
The City of Gulfport, Mississippi is soliciting bids for construction of the Interconnecting Gulfport–Airport Road Extension and Interstate 10 Overpass project, approximately three miles in length. The work includes a new road from Poole Street and Old Highway 49 across CPKC railroad facilities and a spur line, through roundabouts at the Factory Shop Boulevard and Daniel Boulevard extensions, and across Interstate 10 via an overpass. The scope includes clearing and grubbing, earthwork, drainage, concrete sidewalks, bridge work, asphalt, stone base, cement roadwork, pavement striping, signage, roadway lighting, and all related labor, equipment, materials, and incidental work required by the contract documents. The estimated cost is $59 million to $61 million. Work must comply with the Mississippi State Highway Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, 2017, including applicable amendments, special provisions, and addenda. Disadvantaged and women's business enterprises are affirmatively encouraged to participate.
