Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs has issued a Draft Request for Proposals for the Medical Disability Examinations—Next Generation acquisition. The contemplated multiple-award IDIQ would provide medical disability examinations for Veterans and Service Members through six geographic Service Groups covering the United States, U.S. territories, and international locations. Required services include in-person, telehealth, and records-based examinations; qualified medical examiners and facilities; diagnostic and laboratory testing; examination scheduling; claimant notifications; travel and special transportation reimbursement; Veterans Claims Clinics; Mobile Medical Units; quality assurance; reporting; and related administrative support. The acquisition also requires contractors to develop or maintain a secure Exam Management System with Examiner, VA Client, and Claimant portals; integrate with VA systems; transmit examination results and Disability Benefits Questionnaires; meet VA security, privacy, accessibility, and Authority to Operate requirements; and maintain a qualified examiner network. The contemplated contract has a 12-month base ordering period and four 12-month option periods, with multiple awards anticipated for each Service Group. This notice requests feedback only and does not request proposals or constitute a solicitation for award.
