Description
The School District of Oconee County is soliciting proposals for a fiber-based wide area network serving 20 district sites. Proposers may offer leased lit fiber, leased dark fiber, or an indefeasible right of use (IRU). Each campus must receive two separate service paths—one to the Network Operations Center at the District Office and one to the Secondary Network Operations Center at Seneca Middle School—with physically diverse routes to the greatest extent reasonably achievable. Lit fiber paths must provide dedicated 10 Gbps Ethernet service; dark fiber paths must provide dedicated single-mode fiber pairs capable of supporting at least 10 Gbps when lit with district-provided electronics. The scope includes all required installation, special construction, route assessment and mapping, permits, easements, testing, documentation, maintenance, operations, emergency restoration, monitoring, service-level support, and applicable equipment for lit fiber. Pricing must be itemized by site, path, recurring and non-recurring charges, special construction, eligible and ineligible E-Rate costs, and optional extensions or upgrades. The initial contract term is ten years, with up to two additional five-year renewal terms. Proposals must include technical and route information, service-level commitments, comparable references, required certifications, and detailed pricing.
