The Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Minority Participation (LSAMP) program, administered by the U.S. National Science Foundation, aims to increase the number of students from underrepresented groups who earn STEM baccalaureate and graduate degrees. The program supports alliances of higher education institutions and other organizations in developing and implementing strategies to improve STEM student success, retention, and graduation rates. LSAMP supports several types of projects, including Alliance Development Grants (ADG) for new alliances, Bridge-to-the-Baccalaureate (B2B) alliances for student transfers to four-year institutions, STEM Pathways Implementation-Only (SPIO) and STEM Pathways Research Alliances (SPRA) for strengthening existing alliances and conducting research, Bridge to STEM Graduate Degrees (BD-Master's and BD-Doctoral) for supporting master's and doctoral students, and STEM Networking Incentives and Engagement (NETWORKS) projects. Eligibility for submitting proposals varies by project type, generally including two- and four-year institutions of higher education, non-profit organizations, and for-profit organizations for certain programs. Principal Investigators must typically be upper-level administrators. The program is funded through grants with an estimated total program funding of $38,000,000, with award ceilings of $5,000,000.
