Description
The City of Douglas is soliciting a contractor to furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals for improvements to the southern driveway of the City of Douglas Airport Access Road off Airport Circle. The work includes site clearing, grading, drainage, foundation backfill, side-drain pipe, erosion and sediment-control measures, aggregate base, recycled asphalt concrete surfacing, highway signs, galvanized sign posts, thermoplastic traffic striping, permanent grassing, fertilizer, wood-fiber erosion-control blanket, relocation of a four-inch sewer service, and field testing. Work must comply with applicable Georgia Department of Transportation specifications and construction standards. The bid package requires a bid bond or certified check equal to at least 5% of the bid, a letter of bondability when a bid bond is used, and performance and payment bonds each equal to 100% of the contract amount if awarded. The solicitation establishes a 7.3% Disadvantaged Business Enterprise goal, requires Georgia Department of Transportation contractor prequalification or prior written approval, and requires extensive qualification, compliance, insurance, bonding, and subcontractor documentation. The stated completion period is 120 consecutive calendar days after the Notice to Proceed.
