This Notice of Opportunity Announcement (NOFO) invites applications for innovative analysis of existing social science, behavioral, administrative, and neuroimaging data to study the causes and patterns of drug use behaviors (including alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs) and related disorders. The initiative also aims to support research on the prevention of drug use and HIV, and the utilization of health services. The goal is to leverage existing datasets to deepen the understanding of the development of drug use, its consequences, and to guide the creation and implementation of effective prevention and treatment strategies for drug abuse and HIV. Eligibility is broad, including various institutions of higher education, Native American tribal organizations, federal government agencies, faith-based or community-based organizations, and other non-profit and for-profit entities. Specific assistance listings include Alcohol Research Programs (93.273) and Drug Use and Addiction Research Programs (93.279).
