Description
The contractor must provide a qualified Carrier marine air-conditioning and refrigeration service provider to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and test the USS Lewis B. Puller’s air-conditioning and refrigeration plants. Work includes addressing identified chiller and compressor faults, conducting system evacuation, cleaning, pressure and vacuum testing as needed, recharging with government-furnished refrigerant, and performing operational tests with ship representatives present. The contractor must also provide two expansion-valve overhaul kits and procure specified refrigeration-plant parts for turnover to the ship’s maintenance team. The scope includes coordinating equipment lockout/tagout, handling and disposing of fluids in accordance with applicable laws, restoring disturbed surfaces and lagging, and submitting condition and as-released reports. Before work begins, the contractor must provide a signed qualification letter and training certificate for the field service representatives. The RFQ includes a price worksheet for labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and travel.
