Description
The Mathematical Sciences Postdoctoral Research Fellowships (MSPRF) program aims to support emerging leaders in mathematics and statistics by providing opportunities for postdoctoral research in environments that will maximize their scientific development. Awards can be utilized for either a Research Fellowship or a Research Instructorship, supporting research in various mathematical and statistical fields, including their applications to other disciplines. Eligibility is restricted to U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, or legally admitted permanent resident aliens who have held their doctoral degree for no more than two years as of January 1st of the award year. Applicants must propose research in mathematics or statistics, not have previously been a principal investigator on an NSF award (excluding graduate research fellowships or support for conferences/workshops), and must not have submitted a duplicated research plan. Previous recipients of the MSPRF program are also ineligible. The doctoral degree must be conferred before the postdoctoral appointment begins. Proposals that do not meet these criteria will be returned without review.
