Interventions for Health Disparities in Non-Communicable and Chronic Diseases in Latin America

This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) supports innovative, interdisciplinary research teams focused on clinical, health services, or community-based interventions. The goal is to address health and healthcare disparities related to non-communicable and chronic diseases (NCDs) that have a high burden and mortality in Latin America and among U.S. Hispanics/Latinos. Collaborations with at least one Principal Investigator (PI) or MPI from institutions in Latin America are required. Eligible applicants include various U.S. institutions such as Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions, Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AANAPISISs), Hispanic-serving Institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and public and state institutions of higher education. Non-U.S. entities are generally not eligible to apply, though foreign components are permitted. The funding instruments are grants, with categories including health and education.
