Description
The United Nations Development Programme, through its Pakistan project, seeks an individual consultant to conduct comparative research on corporate operational-level grievance mechanisms and out-of-court settlement practices. The assignment will examine mechanisms used by companies and industry actors in Pakistan, the European Union, and selected Global South jurisdictions, including accessibility, legitimacy, procedural safeguards, remedies, transparency, stakeholder participation, and alignment with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. The consultant will map at least 15 mechanisms across at least five sectors in Pakistan, conduct at least 12 stakeholder consultations, perform comparative benchmarking, analyze mediation and negotiated settlements, and develop practical recommendations transferable to Pakistan. Required deliverables include an inception report, Pakistan mapping and assessment, comparative benchmarking report, out-of-court settlement analysis, and validated final comparative report with presentation deck. The engagement totals 100 working days over seven months and requires a CV, implementation methodology, budget and workplan, references, supporting experience documents, and financial proposal.
