Description
Ipas Mozambique seeks an individual consultant to lead the qualitative component of the final evaluation of its Global Affairs Canada-funded sexual and reproductive health and rights project. The consultant will work with the Ipas team to finalize the methodology, participant groups, sampling approach, data-collection instruments, ethical safeguards, and detailed fieldwork plan. The assignment includes facilitating focus groups and conducting individual interviews or other approved qualitative methods in the project intervention areas; organizing recordings, field notes, and transcripts; developing a codebook; conducting thematic analysis using appropriate qualitative-analysis software; triangulating findings where relevant; and preparing preliminary and final study reports, executive summaries, data-analysis materials, and a presentation of preliminary findings. The consultancy is expected to last approximately two months, with about three weeks of fieldwork and travel within Mozambique. Applicants must have a relevant bachelor's degree, at least five years of relevant research, monitoring, and evaluation experience, demonstrated qualitative-research experience, knowledge of sexual and reproductive health and rights and gender, familiarity with the Mozambican sociocultural context, fluency in Portuguese, and three to five samples of prior work.
