Description
The City of San Diego is soliciting a lump-sum construction bid for near-term repairs to Murray Dam. The base bid includes crack, spall, and delamination repairs on the upstream face above gage elevation 84.00 feet, vegetation removal, and sealing horizontal joints at the juncture of the dam’s inclined and vertical arches. Additive Alternate A covers similar upstream repairs between gage elevations 80.00 and 84.00, while Additive Alternate B covers repairs on the downstream face above gage elevation 80.00. The work also includes exposed-rebar repairs, engineered fiber-mesh installation, surface preparation, upstream access and barge mobilization, and optional downstream access and scaffolding. The contractor must provide an access narrative, perform at least 50% of the base-bid work with its own organization, comply with prevailing-wage and project-labor-agreement requirements, meet mandatory SLBE/ELBE subcontracting participation of 7.1% or document good-faith efforts, and satisfy Tier Two prequalification requirements, including a similar-size-and-complexity dam project reference. The estimated construction cost is $8,210,000, and the contract time is 745 working days from the Notice to Proceed.
