Description
The City of Los Angeles, acting through the Los Angeles Police Commission, seeks one or more qualified contractors to provide citywide intake, dismantling, depollution, recycling, salvage, and lawful disposal of passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, recreational vehicles, boats, trailers, campers, motorcycles, and other nonconventional vehicles and vessels received from Official Police Garages. Services include vehicle transport when arranged with the garages, temporary storage, weighing and photographic documentation, removal and recycling or disposal of hazardous fluids and materials, propane-tank removal and devalving, dismantling or crushing, sorting of recyclable materials and salvage parts, and disposal of refuse in compliance with applicable regulations. Contractors must maintain suitable facilities, equipment, permits, licenses, zoning compliance, trained personnel, records, and reporting systems. The primary place of business must be in the City of Los Angeles or within 25 miles of Los Angeles, and facilities are subject to inspection and approval. Vehicles must generally be processed within 10 business days of receipt. The contract term is five years, with one City option for an additional five-year term. Proposals must include a detailed business plan, pricing and recycling analysis, facility and capacity information, financial information, key-personnel qualifications and Live Scan certificates, relevant experience, licenses and permits, compliance documents, and required Business Inclusion Program materials.
