This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) addresses the youth mental health crisis by seeking applications for research aimed at increasing access to evidence-based interventions and services. The research should focus on methods to reach underserved populations, including those in rural and inner-city areas, and youth experiencing homelessness or food insecurity. Applications should explore strategies for optimizing assessment, intervention, and service delivery, addressing workforce shortages, reducing treatment waitlists, and integrating care into settings like schools, social services, pediatric medicine, and the justice system. The research should also investigate interventions that tackle systemic barriers to accessing quality mental health care, including structural, policy, organizational, and financial challenges. Eligibility for this grant includes various institutions such as Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions, Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AANAPISISs), Eligible Agencies of the Federal Government, Faith-based or Community-based Organizations, Hispanic-serving Institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Indian/Native American Tribal Governments (Other than Federally Recognized), Regional Organizations, Tribally Controlled Colleges and Universities (TCCUs), U.S. Territory or Possession, and non-U.S. entities (Foreign Organizations) are not eligible to apply. Non-domestic (non-U.S.) components of U.S. Organizations are also not eligible. Foreign components, as defined in the NIH Grants Policy Statement, are not allowed.
