The District of Sooke, on behalf of the member municipalities of the South Island Reconciliation Advisory Committee (SIRAC), is seeking a consultant to represent local government interests in provincial-First Nations reconciliation and treaty table discussions in the South Island region. The successful proponent will attend Te'mexw Treaty table discussions as a member of the provincial negotiating team, provide input on local government matters, coordinate SIRAC meetings, and keep SIRAC members informed of treaty and reconciliation table discussions. This is an "as-and-when needed" opportunity with no guaranteed minimum, anticipated to require 15 to 20 hours per month, with an estimated annual spend between $40,000 and $60,000.
