Description
The University of Toledo seeks a provider for comprehensive bookstore and retail operations, which may be awarded as an integrated solution or as separate service components. The scope includes textbook and course-material services in print and digital formats; online bookstore and e-commerce capabilities; spirit-store and health-science-campus retail; athletics and event merchandise; order fulfillment; and associated staffing, inventory, technology, customer support, marketing, reporting, and operations. The contractor will also be responsible for the resources needed to operate assigned services and spaces, including labor, equipment, goods, supplies, systems, and capital investment/build-out. Proposals should address service delivery and technology, affordability and course-material access, staffing and qualifications, transition and inventory management, accessibility and security, and a detailed financial proposal. The financial response must include a five-year compensation schedule and pro forma, proposed commissions and guarantees, occupancy payments, capital investment, and upside-sharing terms. The initial contract term is five years, with one possible mutually agreed five-year renewal. The solicitation requires at least three recent, comparable references and also states mandatory experience and reference qualifications, including at least five years managing college or university bookstores and at least five comparable references.
