Description
The City of Peoria plans to solicit construction bids for a 6.4-million-gallon underground combined sewer overflow storage tank with integrated screening and pumping facilities. The work is expected to include deep excavation and a secant pile wall system; civil, structural, and concrete construction; sitework and piping; mechanical and electrical systems; and instrumentation and controls. Prime contractors must meet specified IDOT or equivalent prequalification categories. The City also plans to require evidence of at least two qualifying deep-excavation projects completed within the previous five years. The future solicitation is expected to include American Iron and Steel requirements, prevailing-wage obligations, apprenticeship labor-hour targets, MBE/WBE subcontractor utilization goals, and local EEO certification requirements. This is an advance notice, not a formal invitation to bid; final plans and specifications are expected to be distributed when the project formally launches.
