Description
The United Nations Development Programme's Czech Challenge Fund seeks innovative approaches, products, services, or feasibility studies that address development challenges in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, and the Republic of Moldova and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals. Eligible applicants include private and public-sector entities, NGOs, universities, state institutions, and research centers. Applicants must demonstrate innovation, development impact, sustainability, scale-up or replication potential, and adequate implementation capacity. Applicants implementing projects outside their home country must engage a local partner and submit documentation such as a letter of intent, bilateral contract, or memorandum of understanding. Awards range from US$20,000 to US$40,000 per project, with applicants required to provide at least 20% co-financing of total project costs, which may be financial or in-kind. Projects may cover areas including digital transformation, artificial intelligence, agriculture, SME competitiveness, energy, circular economy, waste management, sustainable tourism, public administration, water management, emergency preparedness, and related development priorities. Projects must be completed within up to 12 months and are expected to begin in April or May 2027.
