Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is offering a licensing opportunity for its Electrically Pumped Nanocrystal Laser Diode technology. This solution-processed laser technology uses engineered colloidal nanocrystals (quantum dots) to achieve electrically driven laser emission at room temperature. It overcomes previous challenges of Auger recombination, heat buildup, and optical losses, enabling scalable, lower-cost manufacturing and on-chip integration. The technology is at TRL 4 with a US patent pending. Applications include optical communications, integrated photonics, sensing, defense, consumer electronics, and medical devices. LANL seeks partners for exclusive or non-exclusive licensing agreements.
