Description
The National Park Service, on behalf of Steamtown National Historic Site, is soliciting quotes for the firm-fixed-price delivery of bulk bituminous coal. The coal must be suitable for use in coal-fired steam locomotives, meet specific quality standards (washed lump/egg size, free of foreign material, less than 2% sulfur), and be mined in the USA. The estimated annual requirement is approximately 80-120 net tons, with deliveries requested as needed in minimum shipments of 20 tons, not to exceed a maximum of 200 net tons per contract year. Deliveries are to be FOB destination to Steamtown National Historic Site, 150 South Washington Ave, Scranton, PA 18503, scheduled between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. The contractor must provide independent inspection and testing data for sulfur content. The base period of performance is from May 1, 2026, through April 30, 2027, with four one-year option periods available.
