Description
The Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation (DCR) is seeking pre-qualified vendors to establish a Master Service Agreement (MSA) to provide Roadway Patch Materials including Hot Mix Asphalt (aka Bituminous Asphalt Concrete), Cold Patch, and Emulsion. DCR reserves the right to add additional roadway patch materials, if needed, over the course of this contract/procurement). It is expected that awarded vendors will supply these materials to the DCR on an as-needed basis. Roadway Patch Materials shall be suitable for use under adverse weather conditions and sub-freezing ambient road conditions. Materials shall bond equally well to dry, damp, or wet surfaces. The material shall also be sufficiently workable for placing with shovels, rakes, or other hand tools; and shall readily compact by hand tamping, power rolling, or if necessary, under the action of vehicular traffic. The patched area shall be resistant to distortion, raveling, and kick-out for at least twelve (12) months after installation. The bidder will prepare the Roadway Patch Materials using any method and equipment that will produce a material meeting the requirements as described above. After preparation, the material shall be ready for immediate use. Bulk material shall be capable of maintaining adhesive qualities after remaining stockpiled for a period of up to one (1) year.
