Description
The United Nations Development Programme is seeking a national consultant to develop technologically and environmentally sound solutions for collecting, storing, processing, and using poultry manure, organic runoff, litter, and related poultry waste to produce safe organic fertilizer products. The assignment includes inventorying waste streams in Kazakhstan, assessing environmental and sanitary risks, analyzing processing approaches such as composting, fermentation, drying, granulation, and anaerobic digestion, and developing standard technological solutions, equipment lists, subsidy-eligible capital-cost criteria, and quality, safety, labeling, and traceability requirements. The consultant will also prepare environmental criteria for poultry-farming subsidy programs, technical sections of an investment passport, and technical input for a handbook on best available techniques. Deliverables are a draft technical investment passport due by December 14, 2026; environmental criteria due by January 25, 2027; and a final technical passport due by February 26, 2027. The work is home-based, limited to 110 working days, and requires higher education in a relevant agricultural field, at least three years of relevant agricultural and poultry-farming experience, experience developing at least one investment project or technical specification, and fluency in Russian and Kazakh.
