Description
The United Nations Development Programme seeks an individual contractor to perform preliminary strategic and technical work for establishing the timbuktoo MineTech Hub, a Pan-African mining and mining-adjacent innovation platform anchored in Zambia. The assignment includes stakeholder discovery, partner capability mapping, a roles and responsibilities matrix, gap and risk analysis, an initial public-private partnership governance framework, and a strategic engagement plan for Mining Indaba and other priority sector platforms. The contractor will also develop and support a resource mobilization plan, prepare six funding or partnership proposals for global mining technology innovation firms, support introductions and negotiations, and produce a formal strategy-development roadmap and final handover materials. The assignment requires at least a master's degree, substantial experience in innovation ecosystems, mining or industrial innovation, public-private partnerships, stakeholder engagement, and strategic advisory work, including at least three similar assignments completed within the last five years. The work is primarily remote with travel to Lusaka and regional or continental engagements as required, for 150 working days delivered within a 12-month engagement period.
