Description
The United Nations Development Programme seeks an individual consultant to provide high-level technical and strategic advisory support for wildlife and biodiversity conservation initiatives in India. The assignment primarily supports the PEACE+ project and also provides inputs to SECURE Himalaya, CONSERVE, BIOFIN, OECM, and ACT projects. Responsibilities include reviewing project documents and feasibility, defining conservation landscapes, developing concept notes and knowledge products, supporting stakeholder workshops and convening, advising state biodiversity institutions, and supporting resource mobilization and co-financing efforts. The engagement is home-based, preferably from Dehradun, with field and coordination travel to Delhi, Uttarakhand, and Ladakh. The contract is approximately six months and 84 working days. Required qualifications include a master's degree in a relevant field, at least 15 years of relevant senior-level experience with Indian government forest and wildlife administration or related institutions, and at least three years managing internationally funded conservation or wildlife protection projects. A technical proposal, personal CV with at least three professional references, methodology or approach, and financial proposal with cost breakdown are required; financial information must be submitted through the designated financial section of the portal.
