Description
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is initiating a qualification process for Advanced Imaging Technology (AIT) systems to establish a Qualified Products List (QPL). This process, in accordance with Revolutionary Far Overhaul (RFO) Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 9.202, aims to evaluate and certify AIT products that meet TSA's functional requirements for threat detection. The QPL will be used to procure AIT systems for screening passengers, with two tracks available: Track 0 for "static" motion systems primarily for TSA PreCheck Lanes, and Track 1 for "dynamic" motion systems for standard checkpoint lanes. Participation requires meeting specific prerequisites, including readiness testing or certification, and successfully completing a multi-step qualification process involving data package submissions, testing, and evaluations. Access to sensitive security information (SSI) and classified documents is necessary for participation, requiring appropriate vetting and adherence to strict security protocols. Successful qualification does not guarantee a contract award but places the product on the QPL for future procurement opportunities.
