Description
The City is establishing a roster of approved contractors available for on-call snow hauling during the 2026/2027 winter season, December 1, 2026, through March 30, 2027. Work is not guaranteed; when trucks are needed, vendors are called in order of their quoted rates, subject to equipment needs and availability. Contractors must provide vehicle and equipment rates and identify the number and types of trucks available. Snow is expected to be hauled mainly to the Strathcona Snow Melt Facility. Applicants must provide a current City business license, Workers' Compensation Board documentation, proof of commercial general liability and vehicle insurance, and a commercial vehicle inspection certificate for each proposed vehicle. Contractors must maintain an approved ComplyWorks connection and execute the City's Standing Offer Agreement. Trucks must meet specified equipment and safety requirements, including snowboards and chain-link fencing; drivers must wear CSA-approved boots and safety vests, and trucks must have operational CB radios. Contractors may use subcontractor equipment but remain responsible for their compliance and performance.
