Description
San Marcos Unified School District is soliciting proposals for comprehensive annual audits of all District funds and account groups. Services must comply with applicable California Education Code and regulatory requirements, generally accepted auditing standards, Government Auditing Standards, applicable federal requirements, and California K–12 local educational agency audit standards. The scope includes financial statement and compliance audits, internal-control evaluations, management letters, findings and recommendations, audit reports, working papers, and required agency filings. The selected auditor must provide qualified California-licensed certified public accountants, including a manager, partner, supervising auditors, and other professional staff; conduct fieldwork, exit conferences, and requested workshops; and present final audit results to the District's Board of Trustees. The proposal must include organizational qualifications, school-district audit experience, references for related K–12 San Diego County clients from the past five years, a recent peer review report, staffing and resumes, an audit work plan, pricing for the initial year and four optional renewal years, and required certifications and questionnaire responses. The contract has an initial one-year term beginning July 1, 2027, with four one-year renewal options.
