Description
Empire State Development (ESD) is seeking applications for its Community and Regional Partnerships program, funded by the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI). This program aims to support micro and small businesses with high growth potential through structured programmatic support, such as accelerators and incubators. Up to $5 million in funding is available, which must be matched by applicants with an equal amount of private funding. Applicants must demonstrate a track record of success in attracting, vetting, and supporting scalable companies, particularly those owned by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals (SEDI-Owned Businesses). The contract period is anticipated to be three years, with potential for additional investment funds if initial goals are met. Eligible activities include investments in vetted beneficiary companies that maintain a presence in New York State for at least one year. Administrative and indirect costs are prohibited. Applicants are required to track and report on various metrics related to the success of the funds provided, including beneficiary company demographics, investment levels, follow-on funding, and business milestones.
